She is also especially effective at working with clients who are new to fitness.
Sharissa has extensive training and certifications that target older populations and those recovering from injury. This includes Senior Personal Training, Group Senior Training, Yoga/ Pilates, Stress Management, Nutrition, PNF Stretching, Reiki and Body Work.
In addition to classes, Sharissa hosts trainings and workshops for the senior population. Topics include Positive Aging, balance, fall prevention and recovery, pelvic floor work and more.
Tailored to Seniors
The focus is functional fitness for seniors – strong and confident for everyday life — reaching, bending, lifting, and walking. Clients use bands and light weights seated in a chair or standing. The 45-minute class begins with a warm-up and progresses through light and safe cardio, strength, balance work, and a real focus on stretching. This is great for clients at all levels of fitness. Clients move at their own pace with modifications to work around all injuries and challenges.
Health and Wellness
At the end of class, Sharissa will discuss positive aging: lifestyle issues, mental health, nutrition, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, join in the discussion, and get answers.
