Throughout her early years, Sandy excelled in basketball as a 5-time AAU Maryland State Champion and McDonald’s All-American nominee but pursued lacrosse at the Division1 level, serving as captain her senior year. She helped young woman on Long Island sharpen their lacrosse skills and go on to receive athletic scholarships while earning her MBA in Marketing and graduating cum laude from Hofstra University. Post-grad, a 6-week “volun-touring” opportunity to teach English in Cambodia turned into a 16 month adventure where she backpacked Southeast Asia and worked in Australia. Now back in New York, her certifications include Schwinn Indoor Cycling, TRX, and AFAA personal training. She is a category 4 racer for Bicycle Roots p/b Hatchmap team and a member of CRCA. Her “mind over matter” attitude is what fuels her challenging classes and invites participants to step out of their comfort zones and ultimately achieve their goals.

Her classes are designed to take the rider through a fun filled, high energy, intense experience. "I want to be that voice in your head telling you to "push it", "go a lil faster", "don't give up", "you got this". You see I'm all about the challenge, overcoming obstacles and confronting fears. My motto is simple: "Go Hard or Go Home!" Come prepared to work, sweat, dominate that bike and leave feeling like a super hero!

You want to know what my classes are like? In a nutshell: You come and hang out with me and a bunch of other people in a very special room that we call the BykBox. I turn down the lights, fire up the stereo, and you let me play some of my favorite music for you while I coach you through an intense ride that will feel more like an event than a class. My class is heavy on the Tabata inspired techniques. I also like to make sound effects with my voice during class (sounds weird I know, but people love it).
And beginners, have no fear, I'm there for you. I give special attention to my beginners before class so that you can feel comfortable and confident.

*Eric has been a full time instructor since September 2002.*

Grace became an enthusiastic indoor cyclist when her right knee went on strike after years of soccer, running, and dance. She immediately fell in love with the physical and mental tenacity involved in each ride, and as she closely watched her excellent instructors, she began to think: “Dude, I’d be so good at that!” And so it began. With each class, Grace strives to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where all riders can develop both physically and emotionally. Using handcrafted (and fabulous) playlists and choreographed cues, each of Grace’s classes has a flow where the rider is pushed to deliver his/her best effort with every pedal stroke.

Can you pick up your speed FIVE. RPMs. MORE.? Can you turn your resistance knob ONE. LEVEL. HIGHER.? The answer to both is yes. Jo’s mantra is “mind over body” — Your brain may say 'meh,' but your legs are going to say 'hell yes.' Jo’s class is a series of shorter, high-intensity drills inspired by the beat of the music, because the right song in the right moment can inspire your body to transcend, and reach new, uncharted levels with every pedal stroke. And in many cases, it’s that quirky one-hit-wonder by that obscure band you heard that one time at a random party, or that pop song of the late 80s that you secretly play on repeat in your bedroom with a spoon microphone in one hand and your hip bone in the other. In Jo's class you'll forget that crappy day at work as the music washes over you and your feet can't help but pick up the beat. That burn is a good thing.

You know "THAT night"... that one epic night out when you're with a large group of your favorite people, all bets were off on where the night could go, anything could happen... and somehow the music was just right and the mood was just right, the good vibes were flowing, and you tore up that dance floor like no one was watching, sweat dripping from your face... you owned that night. "THAT night"... is my ride. I offer my riders a positive, intoxicatingly fun yet real ride experience. 45-60 min combining high intensity sprints, intervals, hill repeats, and steady climbs that will take you to your next level of fitness.

Born in Bangladesh, but raised right here in the heart of Brooklyn, it was only a matter of time before Ifrat found her way to Byklyn. Ifrat has been teaching cardio kickboxing for a year and a half. After falling head-over-sneakers in love with the fitness world, Ifrat decided it was time to fulfill her closet dream of being an indoor cycling instructor. Well if it's any proof that with hard work, dreams do come true, here she is teaching at Byklyn Cycle!

You can find Ifrat every Saturday at 4PM for a head-boppin' booty-poppin' sweat pourin' spirits sourin' 45 minutes of fun between your legs while she takes you through hills and drills. Fair warning though, her energy is contagious and no one is safe!

I was born in Moscow but have lived in Brooklyn for most of my life. After graduating I spent most of my professional life working internationally in law, in New York and in Paris, but always sought a dynamic outlet.

When I discovered indoor cycling, especially with great instructors, it all came together - the pulsating energy of a group of riders, the beat of the music, the surge, the challenge, and everybody together balancing on that beat - it's magic. Indoor cycling provided me with extremely effective training for just about any goal for body and mind, I could find it all in that room, on that bike, in that space, and out of my head.

Realizing how much I got out of indoor cycling and how much a great coach could do for an individual, I knew I wanted to pay that forward. I aim to give riders an experience of powerful motivation and to push them to explore their edges, their weaknesses and to find their strength. I indulge my creative side in every playlist and ride sequence, all to get each rider to go harder than they think they can just by trusting their bodies and having a little too much fun.
