Why BYKlyn? BYKlyn sets itself apart from other cycling studios with their emphasis on balancing community and individual growth with challenging and diverse "real ride" classes.

What’s your class really like: I am a passionate rhythm rider who strives to channel that empowering connection between mind, body, music, and bike. My rides are dramatic and challenging, yet accessible and fun. I've always been a bit of a sucker for controlled and weighted speed drills - Ready, set, GO!

What’s your music vibe: My ride experience is 100% dependent on finding the most inspiring, fun and diverse music for every challenge. Maybe Missy Elliot/Rihanna for a fast flat drill and Tiesto/Armin van Buuren with those beat drops/climaxes for hills and sprints. The majority of my playlists are comprised of remixes from every genre. However, I tend to find the most inspiration from trap, hip hop, trance, and deep house(beat driven).

Life beyond the BYKbox: When I'm not lifting or cycling, you'll find me using a brush to push oil paints around on a canvas. I'm a full-time representational fine artist working out of my apartment in Park Slope, BK. I'm fortunate enough to be able to spend every day of my week doing two of the things I love most - besides eating and ogling other people’s dogs.

Anything else you want us to know:
I am a perfectionist by nature. Hence, I have perfected the art of eating ice cream by the pint. Also, I am captivated by world history, especially ancient history.

Why Byklyn? BYKlyn has the vibe of the dance studios I knew as a kid. Ferocity, fun, and family. It’s a non-judgmental place where you can breathe and sweat it out with friends and just completely let go of the outside world. You walk out high-fiving each other and feeling on top of the world.

What's your class really like? You will ride to your edge in every class and then finish wondering where the time went. I want you to see results with pumping music that takes you on a journey. At the end of the day though, I'm a goofball, not a drill sergeant, so we'll laugh a little, groove a lot, and sweat like crazy.

What's your music vibe? Anything with a beat that drives you forward: electronic, classic rock and roll, hip hop, indie, disco, UK drum and bass and African drums. You can count on fresh tracks, exciting synchronized drills and new adventures.

Life beyond the BYK box: Working actor/comedy writer and lover of mountains, lakes, and all types of pie. My boyfriend Mike and I live on the border of Gowanus/Park Slope and love to explore Brooklyn as much as possible. Favorite spots: Sunny's Bar (oldest in the city! sailor bar), Four and Twenty Blackbirds (pie, duh), and Pizza Moto (more pie).

Anything else you want us to know? You can check out some of my many zany characters on my YouTube channel- Franny and Sam. Think I Love Lucy meets Key and Peele.

Danielle Katz

Name: Danielle Katz

Hometown: Port-of-Spain, Trinidad

Why BYKlyn? Why not? What's not to like. The vibe is Brooklyn all day every day... gritty, real and diverse.

What's your class really like? It depends. One day it could be a party on the bike. The next day we're digging deep in the trenches. But it's all good!

What's your music vibe? I love music and love to channel my inner DJ in my classes so you'll always get a healthy mix of every and anything. In my ultimate cycling class I would have my fave artists performing. What? A girl can dream?!

Life beyond the BYKbox: When I'm not at BYKlyn I teach at my own art-based play-school.

Anything else you want us to know:
Cycling, family, traveling, good food.

Why BYKlyn? BYKlyn embodies a synthesis of my two passions, the borough and culture I grew up in and high intensity endurance training. Every group of riders that fills the BYKbox feels like old friends coming together with a common goal - improvement through grit, sweat, and hard work.

What’s your class really like: Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, I will challenge you. I encourage you to tune into your body and control ride and pace. I aim to inspire you to push past your comfort zone.

What’s your music vibe: Think broad range: from infectious electronic beats, pop, rock, and hip hop, to reggaeton, bachata and other Latin pop mixes. Maybe Deorro and Tiesto, throwback DJs like Robert Miles and Darude and plenty of Avicii, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Gaga, Bey-ce, Rihanna, Drake, etc. So much good music out there that inspires!

Life beyond the BYKbox: When not riding, in or outside, I work for a human rights litigation NGO. I support a broad range of impact litigation aimed at improving national standards for protecting human rights and uphold the rule of law around the world. Read and ride, y'all!!

Anything else you want us to know:
Last year I qualified for my first ever NYC marathon, only to get injured. The goal now is to rebuild and strategize for next year and avoide past mistakes (like running with injuries!). Meanwhile, I'm determined to get many more road miles on two wheels and welcome riding partners to join me! Oh and I like to kick and punch things, taekwondo did the trick for kicking for a few years, and I'm stoked to get into some boxing classes soon to explore that sweet punch flavor!
